Becker County VINE Coverage
Minnesota VINE means Victim Information and Notification Everyday. It is a free, anonymous service for custody information from participating county jails and detention facilities. Becker County’s own Jail Public Services page publishes the VINE route, which confirms the local county-jail channel. The service is available online and by telephone at 1-877-664-8463, with TTY access at 866-847-1298.
Participating county systems normally send updates every 15 or 30 minutes. That cadence supports notice, but it does not make VINELink a permanent Becker County release archive. Feed delay, a spelling mismatch, transfer, purge, or local retention can cause no match. A current roster and a VINE record also answer different questions. The roster shows who is listed in custody now; VINE reports custody status and selected events for the matched person.
Coverage stops at an important line. Minnesota VINE is not connected to MNDOC prisons. Minnesota Haven is the state prison notification path. BOP custody is federal and requires the federal locator. These systems cannot be swapped merely because the same person moved between them.

Open the official VINELink application and focus on one person. A broad browse can produce similar names from other facilities. Becker warns in its roster that conclusive identity rests on fingerprint comparison, so a photo alone should not control the match.
- Select Minnesota when the application asks for a location, then choose the offender or custody search.
- Enter the full or partial name, or use the facility offender identifier when it is known.
- Compare the facility, booking information, name form, age or date details, and any identifier. Do not open the first similar name without checking.
- Open the matched Becker County result and read current custody status, facility, booking details, and any supplied scheduled-release information.

Read Becker VINE Release Events
VINE event labels must be read literally. A general release or bond-release event can support the conclusion that county physical custody ended. A transfer says responsibility moved to another custodian. Unsupervised custody can include work release or electronic monitoring and may leave major restrictions in place. Record purged concerns the data lifecycle, not a standard legal release reason.

A released result is a strong county-system signal, but it may not stay available forever. If the exact date, time, authority, or receiving agency matters, request the maintained Becker booking and release record. The Sheriff can supply existing public data subject to Minnesota law and any lawful redaction.

Register for Becker VINE Release Alerts
Registration begins from the matched person, not from a general Becker County list. Choose only the contact channels that can be monitored. Normal notification calls recur until the correct PIN confirms receipt. Minnesota materials state calls normally repeat every 30 minutes for 24 hours; an answered but unconfirmed call then repeats every two hours. Voicemail does not stop calls. Email, text, and app routes generally send one alert when the change reaches VINE.
Some events carry a planned delay. Transfer alerts are delayed eight hours, and death alerts twelve hours. Technical and customer help is available at 1-866-277-7477. These timing rules are for notification delivery, not for Becker’s own custody processing.
The alert method should fit the event’s urgency and the user’s access. Phone registration requires the PIN to stop repeat calls. Email, text, or app delivery avoids that call-confirmation cycle but can still be delayed by device or network settings. Register more than one route only when each destination can be monitored and kept current.
Confirm a Becker VINE Release
Use the alert as a prompt to verify. Call the Becker County Jail at 218-847-2939 for current operational custody information. For a lasting record, direct a focused request to the Sheriff’s Office at 218-847-2661. Ask for the booking sheet, actual release or transfer date and time, custody disposition, legal authority, and receiving agency for the specific booking episode.
The Sheriff Request for Information supports in-person, mail, telephone, and fax routes. Inspection hours are weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., excluding legal holidays. Minnesota public-data rules allow an agency to provide the existing public portions while withholding or redacting data that law classifies as not public.
For state prison, use the MNDOC Locator while the person remains under DOC jurisdiction and an offender-record request after final discharge. For federal prison, use the BOP locator. For an immigration transfer, use ICE’s custody channel. No Becker VINE result can prove an exit from those separate systems.
Becker VINE Changes to Minnesota Haven
A person can move from Becker County Jail to an MNDOC prison after a state commitment. That move breaks the notification path. Minnesota VINE receives participating county-jail data, while Minnesota Haven handles DOC prison custody and release notification. A VINE registration does not follow the person into state prison.

When Becker VINE Finds No Match
A no-match is not proof of release. Check spelling, partial-name form, facility selection, and any known booking identifier. Then check the current Becker roster. A new booking may not yet have reached VINE, a prior event may have been purged, or a transfer may require a different jail or agency system.
If the person was committed to MNDOC, search by name or six-digit Offender ID in the state locator. A fully discharged state offender may no longer appear there, so use Records Management. If Becker transferred the person to another county, USMS, ICE, or a state facility, ask for the receiving-agency field before searching the next source.
The official Becker County current roster can show whether the person is still listed at the jail. It attempts updates every 30 minutes and includes an Estimated Release Date when supplied, but it is not a released-person archive. The county inmate-information page describes local release logistics but does not list who was released.
Keep identity controls in place. Similar names, aliases, and close birth dates can collide. Use the booking episode, facility, date of birth, offender ID, and court file together. An old photo or unofficial roster snapshot does not establish current custody or release.
